The Soumak, sometimes spelled Sumak, rugs made in Iran are produced by tribal families and have extraordinary detail and is a flat weave rug, rather than a pile rug. Each rug is unique and can be an adaptation of a traditional design as well as a rendition of folk themes. The dyes are all natural and very vibrant.
