A master etcher, de Kosinsky uses Rembrandt's method of freehand line drawing directly onto copper and zinc plates, treated with nitric acid. A select few of these black-line original etchings are painted in watercolor with very small brushes, creating mixed media works in the tradition of hand-tinted 19th and 20th C. book illustration. Each painted work is unique. Trained by Swiss, Italian and American professors, the artist has lived abroad in Italy and London for a number of years. She holds academic degrees in Printmaking and Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design, the Villa Schifanoia Graduate School of Fine Arts in Florence, and the International Graphics Institute in Venice.
Her etchings have won numerous awards worldwide and she is an exhibiting member of numerous international art societies and in 2004 received an Award of Excellence from the World Federation of Miniaturists at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC. She has had three exhibitions with R. H. Ballard Gallery.
