The Purr-fect Gift for a Feline Friend

The Purr-fect Gift for a Feline Friend

Have you ever wondered why cats always seem to prefer cardboard boxes over the nice cat beds their humans get for them? Well, it’s simple really! Our feline counterparts are extremely sensitive to scent! They have scent glands in their cheeks, and they mark safe areas by rubbing their face on things they deem safe. Which is why, if you’ve ever been near a cat, if the cat trusts you, it will happily nuzzle you. The problem with those other cat beds is that they don’t have a fiber that can accept the scent (often they use synthetic fibers), and so the cat doesn’t deem the area a safe space, and they aren’t made with a fiber the cats find naturally attractive.

That’s why we without-a-doubt recommend our Cat Beds made in Nepal using a technique called wet-felting. The only materials used in the making of these items are pure wool, natural soap, and water. Safe, non-toxic dyes are used on the Himalayan wool. The wool is not chemically cleansed, so it has a lot of lanolin in it. Lanolin is the natural oil unique to sheep's wool and it reminds cats of the scent of their mother. Lanolin oil conditions their paws and helps keep their fur healthy and shiny. Lanolin is also anti-microbial and odor resistant, which keeps these cat beds clean.

Our Cat Beds come in a variety of sizes to grow with your new kitten, or to house that 15 year old friend that may have put on the pounds. This bed is a great gift for a feline friend or for a cat-lover in your life. Check out our extensive selection of hand-made cat beds right here!
